Art Creations Friday..Challenge 4

The image at Art Creations Friday is just what I needed.

I wanted a gift box to put Mum's christmas present in and couldn't find anything that I really liked.So I bought an unstained pine box.I lightly stained it with burnt umber, added the image from this weeks challenge. I used several layers of full gloss varnish then added the embellishments.I finished it off with another coat of varnish.It is really what I wanted.

This week I was honoured to be asked to be the guest designer on Thank God Its Friday where the theme is Santa..

TMTA..Seeing Red

The theme at Think Monday Think ATC is seeing red.

I just couldn't get away from Santa so here he is..

Soul Journal.. Textured Backgrounds.

The prompt for this journey was a double page textured background using LOTS of gesso.

I tinted my white gesso with Burnt Sienna and whacked it on the page embedding bits and pieces that I had laying around.Then I whacked more gesso over the top of that.I then embedded a picture that I liked which is of a fairy castle.When the gesso was dry I painted it over with twinkling H2O in warm pecan.Then I dry brushed with gold and bronze metallic paint.

When that was dry I cut the pages to follow the contour of the textured part.

I'm pretty happy with it at the moment but this could change..LOL.

Its much nicer in real life...In my opinion anyway.

Saturday's Workout..Spraying backgrounds

The theme for Saturday's Workout is sprayed backgrounds.

I sprayed a transparency with Design master with 2 shades of aqua and one of pink.I then flicked Glitter magic ink over the top to make my ATC.

Managed to make quite a mess too..

At Art Creations Friday this week we must use the supplied image.

TGIF...Skinny

The theme this week at Thank God its Friday is to do an open theme skinny.

I had so much fun with this background.

I painted a transparency with pthalo blue and then sponged on 3 different shades of blue along with white using some scrunched up lunch wrap.In real life it is slightly transparent.I love this technique.

The image is stamped on a sticky backed transparency so the background shows through.

Then I added some rubons and inked the edges with white stazon.
